This DB5 Vantage Convertible was purchased at the Bonhams annual Collectors’ Motor Cars auction at Goodwood Festival of Speed on the 2nd July 2010. This is a very rare Aston Martin being only 1 of 3 ever built with a vantage engine.
Once delivered to the Post Vintage workshop it was proven that looks can sometimes be deceiving.
Full appraisal of the car revealed the need to make good of previous repairs that were carried out to a poor standard. Therefore the only way to do the job correctly was to undertake a full body off rebuild. It was therefore decided that quality is paramount and a rebuild must be undertaken to the highest standard.
The gallery pictures show the car being totally stripped to a bare chassis with the body being removed before being bead blasted ready for work to be carried out on the chassis and body frame.

1959 DB4 http://www.postvintage.com/restoration/current/18/ This colourful DB4 is currently under full restoration under client’s specification.

The DB4 has been stripped downs to its chassis and removed of all residue, under seal and paint. The chasis was then bead blasted to eliminate any remaining residue. Bead blasting enabled the team to identify any damage and corrosion and appropriately repair.

Please see the gallery for pictures of the ongoing restoration work.

DB2 Coupe http://www.postvintage.com/restoration/current/9/

This 1952 DB2, chassis number LML/50/80 will be fully restored as a period racing car.

Originally finished in the Aston Martin colour of Crushed Strawberry with Grey trim, LML/50/80 has a good history file, which contains the factory build sheet complete with colour samples.

Since purchasing the DB2 it has been fully stripped down to its chassis. The chassis has then been eliminated of all residues, paint and under seal and bead blasted. This enabled the team to identify the damages and corrosion and appropriately repair. The chassis was then drilled extensively to lighten the weight to the spec of the original works light weight team cars.
Please see the gallery for pictures of the ongoing restoration work.
